Moapa Valley OHV Roundup November 11-12, 2016

HISTORY:

The Moapa Valley OHV Roundup semi annual event began in November 2015, after the Clark County Commissioners voted unanimously to approve an ordinance officially making Moapa Valley friendly to Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) use. The OHV-friendly designation has been sought by community leaders for a long time. For five years or more, Partners in Conservation (PIC) Administrator Elise McAllister, of Moapa, has headed a special task force to make key local roadways legal for OHV use. The goal was to allow access to and from public lands on the periphery of the community. Read the full article in the Moapa Valley Progress. The Moapa Valley OHV Roundup was organized to celebrate this first ever Clark County OHV Friendly Community designation. Each event has been bigger and better than the first one!

2016 MOAPA VALLEY OHV ROUNDUP

The November 2016 Moapa Valley OHV Roundup will take place November 11-12, 2016 and will, of course, be bigger and better than ever! The main event staging will be at the Clark County Fairgrounds located at 1301 Whipple Ave Logandale, NV.

OVERTON, Nev. - In February of 2017 the Lost City Museum in Overton presents the artistic duo of Jo Tame and Dot Blake in “Renderings of the Past.”

Renderings of the Past features beautifully painted gourds, pencil sketches and watercolor paintings.  Jo Tame and Dot Blake’s art is inspired by the petroglyphs and geologic wonders of the area.

Missoula Children’s Theatre has been a valley favorite for years. MCT provides a unique experience for the youth of the community. Auditions for students K-12 will take place at the beginning of the week. In one week, the cast will learn a full scale musical to be performed on that Saturday! Within each MCT cast, girls and boys are equal; the disabled become able; the shy experiment with bravery; the shows are rehearsed to perfection; and the gifted become part of the whole. The lesson they learn is that all of them are necessary for the show to go on. MCT provides a unique opportunity to learn the lessons of group dynamics while excelling as an individual–a lesson from art that carries into life. Come support the youth in their end of week performances of “The Princess and the Pea”.
